Essen (Germany), July 18 -- To Kenyan tennis player Angella Okutoyi, medals are not the only things in her mind when she steps on to the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games tennis courts.
The 21-year-old, brought up by her grandmother after her mother died in childbirth, is hoping to be an inspiring force to an entire continent.
"My journey is already inspiring so many young kids and I can show them that they can also do it," Okutoyi said on Thursday.
"Most people know that tennis is a rich sport, and I didn't come from a rich family. So being able to break through is quite a good story."
Okutoyi will play in the women's singles and doubles at ETUF Tennisanlage in Essen. Her first test will come from Thailand's Lidia Podgori...
