Hyderabad, June 1 -- Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Rakshana Samiti (TRS), has urged the Telangana government to grant permission for the installation of a bronze statue of Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar on Tank Bund in Hyderabad.
In a post on social media platform X, Kavitha described Professor Jayashankar as a great visionary who fought tirelessly for the cause of a separate Telangana state, believing it to be the only solution to the problems faced by the people of the region.
She expressed disappointment that even after 12 years of the formation of Telangana, the government had not officially installed a bronze statue of Professor Jayashankar in Hyderabad.
