Hyderabad, June 8 -- Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) President K Kavitha on Monday strongly criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the reported proposal to merge 27,000 government schools into 4,000 institutions, alleging that the move would deprive poor and girl students of education.

In a video statement, Kavitha alleged that the Chief Minister was "worse than Hitler" and likened the move to Taliban-style policies, claiming that it would deny educational opportunities to underprivileged sections.

She questioned the future of more than three lakh government teachers currently working in government schools and alleged that the government was paving the way for privatisation of education, making it inaccessible to poor families.
