Hyderabad, Oct. 28 -- The Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) organised an 'OBC Declaration' meeting at RTC Kalyana Mandapam in Baghlingampalli on Wednesday, unanimously adopting a resolution demanding a separate column for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the nationwide caste census and for their proportional representation in education, employment and politics.
Addressing the meeting, TRS president leader K. Kavitha called for a nationwide caste-based census with a dedicated OBC column and unique codes for each caste.
She demanded the removal of the 50 per cent ceiling on reservations, filling of backlog vacancies for BC, SC and ST communities, implementation of reservations in the private sector, and social justice in universities.
