Srinagar, Jan. 24 -- A day after heavy rain and snowfall hit Jammu and Kashmir, the Valley continued to experience biting cold on Saturday, with snow blocking highways for the second consecutive day, officials said. Flight operations at Srinagar airport, temporarily disrupted by the weather, have since resumed.
Although the snow and rain that began Thursday night had eased by Friday, their impact persisted, disrupting normal life as several highways, including the strategic Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, remained closed.
The power supply remained disrupted in parts of the Valley, while several flights at Srinagar airport were cancelled early Saturday due to a NOTAM at Delhi Airport and adverse weather conditions in Srinagar.
