Srinagar, Sept. 5 -- Kashmir's higher reaches on Saturday recorded the first snowfall of the season, with light snow reported from areas above around 3,900 metres, signalling the gradual transition towards autumn in the Valley.
Light snowfall was recorded in Sonamarg and Zojila areas of Ganderbal district, including the Zojila and Gumri mountains, while the higher reaches around Gulmarg in Baramulla district and the Pir Panjal range also received fresh snow.
Mahadev Peak in Srinagar district was covered in fresh light snow, while snowfall was also reported from Kaobal Gali in Bandipora district and the Tulail Valley in Gurez.
