Chennai, March 24 -- The Karur District and Sessions Court has found guilty and convicted nine accused in connection with the 2012 murder of seven people by attacking them with petrol bombs.

While passing the verdict in the sensational case on Monday event, the Court said the quantum of sentence to be awarded to the convicts would be pronounced later.

The incident occurred on the night of October 30, 2012 when the victims were returning from Madurai to Ramanathapuram, when petrol bombs were hurled at their vehicle, killing seven of the occupants on the spot and injuring 13 others.

The deceased were identified as Jayapandi, Sundarapandi, Verivel, Desinguraj, Ranjithkumar, Vishnu and Sivaraman.
