Shivamogga, Oct. 25 -- Karun Nair played a commanding innings to anchor Karnataka's first-innings score of 222 for 5 against Goa on the opening day of the Round 2 Ranji at the KSCA Navule Stadium here today.
Nair's 86-run knock from 138 balls, studded with seven boundaries and a six, provided stability after Karnataka lost early wickets.
After a rain delay, play got underway with former Karnataka seamer Vasuki Koushik operating with the new ball alongside Arjun Tendulkar for Goa.
