Bengaluru, July 14 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday announced that the state will introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) education at the school level as part of an ambitious roadmap to transform Karnataka into India's AI capital, while unveiling a series of initiatives to strengthen the state's technology ecosystem.
Addressing the inaugural session of Google I/O Connect India 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Shivakumar said the government aims to equip students with AI skills from an early stage to prepare them for future technology-driven careers. He said Karnataka's AI strategy would focus on education, innovation, infrastructure and inclusive development.
