Belagavi, July 13 -- With cooperative sugar mills facing financial and administrative challenges, the Karnataka State Sugar Mills Federation has sought urgent government intervention to strengthen the sector and protect the interests of sugarcane farmers.
A delegation of federation office-bearers and chairpersons of various cooperative sugar factories met Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi and submitted a memorandum highlighting key issues concerning the sugar industry.
The meeting was organised by Legislative Council member Channraj Hattiholi, who apprised the Chief Minister of the financial and administrative difficulties faced by cooperative sugar mills and the need for corrective measures.
