Bengaluru, Sept. 8 -- Karnataka is moving to the next phase of its renewable-energy transition, shifting the focus from merely adding generation capacity to building a stronger grid capable of absorbing and delivering the growing volume of clean power, Energy Minister KJ George said on Tuesday.

The State is undertaking a major expansion of its power distribution infrastructure, with around 120 new substations planned this year and nearly 400 more proposed over the next two to three years, in a bid to strengthen last-mile connectivity and ensure that Karnataka's expanding renewable-energy capacity translates into reliable power supply for consumers.
