Bengaluru, Sept. 6 -- The Congress-ruled Karnataka government's decision to use ballot papers instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming local body elections has been welcomed by the party as a step to ensure transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
Speaking on the move, KPCC Working President and MLA Manjunath Bhandari said that while paper-based voting may seem old-fashioned, it "provides greater reliability, security, and transparency".
He noted that concerns over illegal voting and electoral misconduct have been widespread across the country, with evidence of vote tampering surfacing repeatedly.
