Bengaluru, Aug. 13 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday completed the long-awaited distribution of portfolios among the expanded Council of Ministers, ending days of negotiations and speculation but leaving several ministers disappointed and triggering debate over the absence of women legislators in the Cabinet.
The portfolio exercise, carried out nearly 10 days after the Cabinet expansion, saw important changes in the departments held by several ministers, with Social Welfare emerging as one of the most keenly sought-after portfolios.
