Bengaluru, June 16 -- : Karnataka Police have busted a "digital arrest" cyber fraud syndicate with alleged links to Pakistan, arresting three accused and apprehending the alleged kingpin in a major crackdown on organised online crime, officials said on Tuesday.

According to investigators, the gang operated a sophisticated cyber fraud network that targeted victims by impersonating law enforcement and government officials. The fraudsters allegedly intimidated victims through phone and video calls, falsely claiming that they were involved in criminal cases and placing them under so-called "digital arrest" to extort money.
