Bengaluru, March 26 -- The Karnataka High Court on Thursday declined to issue notice on a petition filed by the DIGIPUB News India Foundation and journalist Abhinandan Sekhri concerning online content blocking rules.
A bench of Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice C Poonacha said the case will be heard later along with a similar petition filed by X Corp.
The petition challenges an earlier court order which said the government can ask social media platforms to remove content under Section 79(3)(b) of the IT Act, not just under Section 69A.
The court said it will not hear the matter separately now, as a similar case is already pending. That case has been scheduled for hearing on June 11.
