Bengaluru, June 17 -- The Karnataka High Court has declared the arrest of Gameskraft founders Deepak Singh, Vikas Taneja and Prithviraj Singh by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) as illegal and directed their immediate release from jail in connection with a money laundering investigation.
The order was passed in petitions filed by the accused in the case titled Deepak Singh v Directorate of Enforcement and connected matters, where the legality of their arrest was challenged before the court.
The ED had arrested the founders in a case alleging that Gameskraft was involved in laundering around Rs 250 crore through its operations and was also accused of employing deceptive practices to attract users on its real-money gaming platform.
