Bengaluru, July 13 -- The Karnataka government has moved the Supreme Court against the discharge of Janata Dal (Secular) MLA HD Revanna in a sexual harassment case, triggering fresh legal scrutiny of the proceedings that saw the former minister get relief from the lower courts.
A Supreme Court Bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and K Vinod Chandran on Monday issued notice on the State's appeal challenging the trial court order that discharged Revanna from the case filed by a former domestic worker.
The Bengaluru trial court had discharged Revanna in December 2025, holding that the complaint was lodged after an unexplained delay of four years and that the delay did not qualify for condonation under the law.
