Bengaluru, June 29 -- Karnataka on Monday proposed a sister city partnership between Bengaluru and Peru's capital, Lima, as part of a broader push to strengthen India-Peru economic relations and help raise bilateral trade to USD 10 billion.
Making the proposal during Peru's National Day celebrations in Bengaluru, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said closer institutional cooperation between the two cities could unlock fresh opportunities in trade, investment, technology, innovation, education and cultural exchanges.
He said Karnataka, led by Bengaluru's globally recognised innovation ecosystem, is well placed to become a key driver of India's expanding engagement with Peru and the wider Latin American region.
