Bengaluru, July 23 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday intensified the political offensive against the Centre over the NEET controversy, writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to abolish the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and restore State-level Common Entrance Tests (CETs) for medical admissions.
In a strongly-worded letter released to the media, Parameshwara said the NEET system had failed to protect the interests of students and urged the Prime Minister to immediately reinstate transparent, merit-based State CETs in keeping with India's federal structure.
