Bengaluru, May 13 -- A city court in Bengaluru has granted bail to three private college staff members arrested in connection with the CET examination "janivara removal" incident, observing that prolonged custody in such circumstances could have wider implications on the conduct of public examinations and may lead to fear among exam authorities.

The case stemmed from an incident on April 23, during the Karnataka CET Physics examination at a Koramangala centre, where a student was allegedly instructed to remove his sacred thread (janivara) before entering the examination hall.
