Kalaburagi, Oct. 10 -- A police constable was suspended in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district after a video purportedly showing him consuming alcohol on the rooftop of a mosque while on duty went viral on social media, police said on Saturday.
The constable, identified as Hanumanth, is posted at Mahagaon police station and was deployed to maintain law and order following a dispute in Harsuru village in Kamalpur taluk.
According to reports, villagers allegedly spotted the constable drinking alcohol on the mosque rooftop and recorded the incident. The video subsequently circulated on social media, prompting the police department to initiate a preliminary inquiry.
