Bengaluru, June 5 -- The Karnataka Congress on Friday found itself in damage-control mode after senior minister Ramalinga Reddy resigned citing "humiliation" over his portfolio allocation, casting an early shadow over the newly formed government led by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

The surprise exit of one of the party's senior Bengaluru leaders prompted swift efforts by the Congress leadership to project unity, with Shivakumar and senior minister Priyank Kharge publicly stressing that the issue would be resolved through dialogue.
