Bengaluru/New Delhi, May 26 -- Amid intensifying speculation over a possible leadership change in Karnataka, senior Congress leader and Karnataka Legislative Council member BK Hariprasad on Tuesday mounted a strong defence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, declaring that the Congress had chosen him to lead the state for a full five-year term.

Hariprasad's sharp remarks came even as Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar held high-level discussions with the Congress leadership at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi, fuelling fresh political buzz over a possible power-sharing formula in the state.
