Bengaluru, Aug. 12 -- Confusion continued on Wednesday over the proposed Karnataka bandh on Thursday against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, with pro-Kannada organisations divided over whether to proceed with the statewide shutdown.

The bandh has been called for August 13 from 0600 to 1800 hours by pro-Kannada organisations protesting the Cauvery water release and demanding progress on long-pending projects including Mekedatu, Mahadayi and Kalasa-Banduri.

The latest trigger was the Cauvery Water Management Authority's direction to Karnataka to release **12,000 cusecs of water daily to Tamil Nadu for 15 days from August 12**, despite Karnataka's concerns over its water availability.
