Bengaluru, May 31 -- Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot today invited Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar to form the government in the state and take oath as the next Chief Minister.
In a formal communication issued from Lok Bhavan, the Governor said he had received Shivakumar's letter dated May 30 staking claim to form the government after being elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
"I invite you to take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka along with team members," Gehlot said in the letter.
The Governor informed that the swearing-in ceremony would be held at 4.05 pm on June 3 at the Lok Bhavan premises in Bengaluru.
