Bengaluru, April 3 -- A forest fire has again broken out in the Biligiri Ranganatha Hills Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagar district, triggering concern among forest officials and local communities as the ecologically sensitive region faces repeated fire incidents within a short span.
The blaze was reportedly noticed in parts of the reserve forest, with dry conditions and prevailing weather aiding the spread of the fire. Preliminary estimates indicate that several acres of forest land, including patches of vegetation, have been affected in the incident.
This is the second such fire reported in the region in recent days, raising serious concerns over the vulnerability of the habitat.
