Pankaj JainNew Delhi, Feb. 3 -- Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra has written to Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, invoking Article 361A of the Constitution and seeking protection of legislative privilege over Punjab Police action linked to the publication of House proceedings.
He has requested that the matter be referred to the Committee of Privileges for examination.
In his letter, Mishra said a complaint filed by Iqbal Singh and the subsequent registration of an FIR by the Jalandhar Police show disregard for constitutional safeguards and amount to a serious breach of the privileges of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
