Kannur, Nov. 25 -- A local court on Tuesday awarded 20 years of imprisonment to two DYFI/CPI(M) workers in a case involving a bomb attack on a vehicle carrying a police team led by Payyanur Sub-Inspector K P Ramakrishnan on August 1, 2022.
The Taliparamba Additional Sessions Court's sentence also includes a CPI(M)-led LDF local body poll candidate contesting from Vellur-Mottammal ward number- 46 in Payyannur Municipality in elections due December 11.
Nishad, who is the current LDF councilor representing Karamel ward (ward 42) and the DYFI Payyanur block secretary and district committee member, is among the convicted.
