Dharamshala, June 3 -- Special Gram Sabhas will be convened in all Gram Panchayats of Kangra district on June 5 to mark World Environment Day 2026, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa announced on Wednesday.
Issuing orders in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner said the meetings are being organized in accordance with the directions of the Panchayati Raj Department, Himachal Pradesh, and the union Ministries of Panchayati Raj and Jal Shakti.
He said the special Gram Sabhas will coincide with the culmination of the awareness campaign being conducted from June 1 to 5 under the "Clean Village, Safe Climate" initiative.
