Dharamshala, June 11 -- Police in McLeodganj have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after recovering 1.76 grams of heroin, commonly known as "chitta," from a Kangra resident.

According to police, on June 9 a police team recovered 1.76 grams of heroin from Lucky Dogra, a resident of Vankhandi village and post office in Dehra tehsil of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, during an operation in McLeodganj.

A case has been registered at McLeodganj Police Station under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway.
