Dharamshala, Aug. 12 -- Food grains worth Rs 62.68 crore were distributed to 4,70,948 ration card holders through 1,161 fair price shops in Kangra district during the five months from March to July 2026, officials said on Tuesday.
The figures were shared at a district-level review meeting of the Public Distribution System (PDS) and Vigilance Committee, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Vinay Kumar.
Kumar directed officials to ensure timely supply of prescribed quantities, maintain food grain quality and ensure transparency in distribution. He also called for smooth availability of LPG cylinders and stronger inspection and monitoring mechanisms.
