Kolkata, Sept. 7 -- The Kalighat camp of the Trinamool Congress on Monday moved the Calcutta High Court challenging a notice issued by the state fire department directing the vacation of the seventh and eighth floors of a building on Camac Street, where party leader Abhishek Banerjee's office is located.
The matter was mentioned before Justice Krishna Rao, who permitted the party to file a petition.
The case is likely to be heard on Friday.
Abhishek's office is located on the seventh and eighth floors of 9 Camac Street.
The development comes days after a dispute broke out between Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials and Abhishek's supporters when civic officials went to remove billboards from the premises.
