Hyderabad, Sept. 1 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy today described the collapse of the Medigadda barrage under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) as "the biggest man-made and financial disaster in independent India."Opening the debate on the Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose Commission report in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, he alleged that the previous BRS government ignored expert warnings, altered designs without approvals, and pushed through contracts without due diligence, resulting in a project that collapsed within four years of commissioning.
