Kakinada, Nov. 2 -- Kakinada District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad on Monday inspected postal ballot facilitation centres set up at the Kakinada Rural and Pithapuram Mandal Parishad offices as part of the arrangements for the MPTC and ZPTC elections.
During the inspection, the Collector enquired with the officials about the issuance of postal ballot papers, recording of votes and safe custody of ballot boxes.
He said postal ballot facilitation centres had been established at all mandal headquarters to enable officials and staff involved in the local body election process to exercise their franchise.
The Collector instructed the officials to provide basic amenities, including drinking water, to voters visiting the centres.
