Kakinada, Sept. 11 -- Kakinada Traffic Police on Friday conducted a special drive against driving while using mobile phones and the use of modified silencers, and imposed fines on 34 motorcyclists.
The drive was conducted by One Town Traffic Police Station Inspector N Ramesh and his staff on the instructions of SP Bindu Madhav and Additional SP Mahanti Kishore Kumar.
Inspector Ramesh said the special drive would continue with the objective of preventing road accidents.
He counselled motorists against using mobile phones while driving, stating that it was a major cause of road accidents.
He also warned motorists against using modified silencers, saying they caused noise pollution and disturbed senior citizens and patients.
