Bengaluru, July 13 -- In an unprecedented move, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Monday suspended Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Chairman Shivashankarappa S Sahukar over allegations that he misused his constitutional office to secure government jobs for his two daughters and sought a Supreme Court inquiry into the charges under Article 317(1) of the Constitution.
The Governor, exercising powers under Article 317, referred the matter to the President of India for an inquiry by the Supreme Court into allegations of "misbehaviour" against the KPSC Chairman.
