Imphal, Sept. 15 -- Justice M. Sundar was sworn in today as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court at a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan. Governor A.K. Bhalla administered the oath of office.
The ceremony was attended by former Chief Minister, judges of the High Court, MLAs and members of the legal fraternity. Justice K. Somashekar recently retired as Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.
Justice Sundar previously served as a judge of the Madras High Court. Following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium on September 11, the central government issued the order appointing him as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
