Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Sept. 7 -- Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra was sworn in as the 37th Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday, a day after the Punjab Cabinet opposed his appointment and sought a deferment of the oath ceremony.
The appointment has triggered a dispute between the AAP-led Punjab government and the Centre over the procedure for appointing High Court chief justices and the role of state governments in the process.
