New Delhi, May 8 -- India's top doubles shuttler and Khel Ratna awardee Satwiksairaj Rankireddy has clarified that his recent comments about the lack of reception for India's Thomas Cup bronze medal-winning team were not made for personal recognition or rewards, but to highlight the need for greater support and appreciation for Indian athletes across sports.
India, who had won the Thomas Cup title in 2022, finished with a bronze medal in the 2026 edition of the tournament recently. However, when the team returned home after the campaign in Horsens, there was no major reception or celebration for the players.
