New Delhi, March 26 -- For more than a decade, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu has been the face of Indian weightlifting, but as she prepares for a packed 2026 season, the Tokyo Olympics silver medallist faces a fresh challenge of juggling between two weight categories.

Following a revision in divisions by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), Mirabai will have to compete in the 48kg category at the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow before moving back to the 49kg class for the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya.
