Ranchi, Aug. 25 -- The bail pleas of former JPSC chairman and former Jharkhand chief secretary L Khiangte and four others, accused in a case related to alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC preliminary examination, came up for hearing before a Ranchi court on Tuesday, with the next hearing scheduled for September 1.

Additional Judicial Commissioner Yogesh Kumar heard the bail pleas of Khiangte, Abhay Kumar Tiwari, Shweta Gupta, Suman Saurav and Umesh Kumar.

During the hearing, the CID submitted the case diary before the court. Senior advocate Sanjay Kumar said the prosecution sought additional time to examine the case diary and file its response. After hearing both sides, the court fixed September 1 for the next hearing.
