Pune, Aug. 29 -- Since the Marathi language has been granted the status of a classical language, this year the joint procession of 11 Ganesh Mandals from Dhankawadi Pune held under the slogan "M for Marathi", attracted thousands of Ganesh devotees.

After offering books as Naivedya (devotional offering) to the Lord of wisdom, the Ganesh idols of all 11 mandals were seated on the language glory chariot. The participating mandals including Sainath Mitra Mandal, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Mitra Mandal, Adarsh Mitra Mandal, Five Star Mitra Mandal, Keshav Mitra Mandal, Jai Maharashtra Mandal, Akhil Narveer Tanaji Nagar Mitra Mandal, Ekta Mitra Mandal, Vidyanagari Mitra Mandal, Ramkrishna Mitra Mandal, and Akhil Mohan Nagar Mitra Mandal.
