Chandigarh, April 11 -- Heart-rending scenes were witnessed in Punjab's Jagraon on Saturday as five victims of the Vrindavan boat accident were cremated together, even as the toll from the tragedy rose to 11.
The body of Manik Tandon from Abohar was recovered on Saturday, adding to the grim count. Tandon, who was scheduled to get married this September, was the cousin of another victim, Madhur Bahl.
While nine bodies have been returned to their families across Ludhiana, Moga, and Abohar, a young woman from Ludhiana, Dinki Bansal, remains missing, prompting her family to issue an urgent plea for administrative intervention.
