Ranchi, June 8 -- Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Baidyanath Ram and Congress nominee Pranav Jha on Monday filed their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha election from Jharkhand, with the ruling Mahagathbandhan putting up a united front after recent differences over seat sharing.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and senior leaders of the JMM, Congress, RJD and CPI(ML) were present during the filing of nominations.

Ram, a former minister and MLA from Latehar, filed his nomination first and expressed confidence that both Mahagathbandhan candidates would be elected.
