Srinagar, Oct. 30 -- As the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was in session, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today ordered the termination of two government teachers over alleged links with terrorist organizations.

The move sparked sharp criticism from mainstream political leaders, with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reiterating that dismissals should follow due process and that every accused employee must be given a fair opportunity to explain their position.

The two employees terminated included Maajid Iqbal Dar, a resident of Rajouri, and Ghulam Hussain of Reasi.
