Jammu, May 12 -- Around 45,000 passengers travelled in Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express service in the first ten days of its run.
The official spokesman today said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the historic 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link on June 6, 2025, it was a moment that transformed ambition into reality.
"On April 30, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the augmented, 20-coach Jammu Tawi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express and within just 10 days of its regularisation (May 2), the 4 train services combined carried 44,727 passengers (up to May 11) across both directions of travel, firmly establishing itself as the lifeline of Jammu and Kashmir.
