Kochi/Lakshadweep, March 8 -- union Minister for Earth Sciences and Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, today reviewed the progress of key ocean technology projects being implemented in Lakshadweep, focusing on strengthening water security and promoting sustainable energy solutions in the island territory.
During a review meeting with scientists and officials of the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) in Kavaratti, the Minister assessed the functioning of the existing Low Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plants operating across the islands and evaluated the progress of the upcoming Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) powered desalination facility being developed there.
