Shimla, April 19 -- union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr Jitendra Singh today slammed the Congress and the INDI alliance over the Women's Reservation Bill, alleging that the opposition had "betrayed" women and attempted to stall a historic legislation.

Addressing media persons here, he said the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' was not merely a legislative measure but a reflection of the BJP's ideology and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for holistic women empowerment in the country.

He asserted that the present government had moved beyond treating women as beneficiaries and instead positioned them as leaders in the development journey.
