Ranchi, March 26 -- The Jharkhand government is leveraging universities to identify and document grassroots innovations and traditional knowledge in rural areas through a structured internship programme, officials said.
Under the Jharkhand Grassroots Innovation Internship Scheme, student teams from higher education institutions are deployed in panchayats to scout local innovations and community-based practices, with findings compiled into formal reports for policy and knowledge use.
In a move to scale up the initiative, the state has invited applications for up to 87 Mentor-of-Mentors through the Jharkhand Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (JCSTI) to supervise and guide the internship teams.
