Ranchi, July 22 -- Jharkhand is set to establish eastern India's first government-run Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) institute, with the state government signing partnership agreements to introduce aviation training programmes at the Jharkhand Flying Institute in Dhanbad.
According to an official release, the Jharkhand Flying Institute has signed a memorandum of understanding with Delhi-based Venyor for the AME programme and another agreement with AISECT Ltd, Bhopal, to conduct air hostess training. Both courses will be offered under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren is scheduled to formally launch the programmes during the state's Foundation Day celebrations in November.
